Dagmar and Vaclav Havel Foundation Vision 97Foundation's Mission
The Dagmar and Vaclav Havel foundation VISION 97 pursues a considerably wide range of interests. This results from the aims of its founders, from the traditions which it seeks to develop, as well as from the natural expectation that the presidential couple will devote their attention to a broad spectrum of life in their activities within the Foundation. The Foundation is mainly involved in the fields of culture, health, education and social issues. In addition, it occasionally organizes or supports various events concerning human rights issues and also reacts to the current needs of society. At the same time, the Foundation seeks to live up to its name by identifying and supporting long-term projects that may seem to be less important or even marginal now, but will prove their worth in the course of time; undertakings which offer examples or models and show groundbreaking or visionary features. The Foundation provides smaller contributions to a wide range of organisations and individuals, simply to those who are in dire need of help.
